An Important Update From Father Heart UK
June 2021 - Father Heart UK Newsletter
Dear Friends
It’s been sometime since we’ve written, which given the pandemic is perhaps not surprising. The various lockdowns and other restrictions have pretty much meant all our events have had to be cancelled and it’s not been possible to run any of our schools.
Hopefully, there is light at the end of the tunnel and perhaps in the Autumn we’ll be running ‘live’ events once again. Zoom, Facebook and online streaming certainly have their place but are not as it really ought to be.
Now, however, is the time to update you of some changes which have been taking place within the wider Father Heart family. You may have noticed that we have changed our name to Father Heart UK. We have done this to reflect the way in which Trevor and Mark, particularly, intend to run events other than the ‘A’ and ‘B’ Schools they’ve been running up to now. We are feeling that there is a new expression of ministry which we believe will reach many more people, perhaps through more (and shorter) regional events.
At the same time John and Fiona MacDonald have changed the name of their Scottish charity to Father’s Love (Scotland) as they too are feeling that their ministry is widening, yet still with the foundation of the Father’s love.
All of us are therefore no longer ‘A’ School leaders within Fatherheart Ministries. Although we do not have a defined role or function we do, however, retain significant personal relationships with many people within FHM. As Father leads, we all continue to be involved in ministry and are looking forward to the new opportunities and doors that open for us.
Change comes upon us in many ways and specifically for Trevor and Linda this transition has not been easy. For many years, they have been pouring their hearts out to us and seeing the revelation of Father’s love being shared around the world. They have always been more interested in the individual people attending schools or other events than they have in simply filling up church halls or conference rooms. By nature they are a pastoral couple and, ever since meeting them, we’ve been impressed with their heart for people and their desire to see family grow, not centred on them but growing relationally in whatever form that takes. They create family because they carry family in their hearts.
Since we first became involved with Fatherheart Ministries there have been two major shifts in the ministry. The first took place in 2004 when Jan and Sandra Rijnbeek helped James and Denise with the commencement of the schools. The second shift has taken place (almost under the radar) as Trevor and Linda have quietly travelled around and laid the foundation of a family within the ministry. Many of us are extremely grateful to be part of a family and we believe this is principally of Trevor and Linda’s making.
Of course, we all love Trevor’s teaching style. His stories, many of which he tells against himself, his biblical knowledge and the simple way in which he can present truth in order that we can see it with the eyes of our heart. Linda is a mother and that comes across through her teaching, soaking sessions or through the many cups of tea and time taken as she sits, listens and offers her practical and wise counsel.
On a personal level, the three of us are immensely grateful for their friendship.
So…… Keep an eye on the website and we look forward to welcoming you in person to our events shortly. Mark will probably be running some more online seminars over the coming months and you’ll find details on his website (https://afathertoyou.com).
We send our greetings to you all.
